Easy Peasy eBay and a Christmas Clearout.

Every year, just about this time, as the nights begin to draw in and people start sharing Countdown to Christmas calendars on social media, I look around the house at the detritus accumulated and despair.

And then I turn to eBay where your trash can be someone else's treasure and the cathartic process of decluttering soothes any qualms I might have about starting Christmas shopping in September. The extra cash comes in handy too.

Since the last time I embarked on this annual ritual, eBay have been hard at working speeding up and simplifying the listing process and the new eBay phone app is just as simple to use. All you have to do is:

SNAP IT - Take photos of your item, you can upload 12 per listing so take them from all angles and  in a good light.

WRITE IT - Add a title, description and details, eBay auto suggests suitable categories for your item even as you type.

PRICE IT - Choose auction or buy it now, eBay suggests how much to charge based on previous sales of similar listings.

POST IT - Choose whether buyers collect or you post, eBay even calculates what the postage should be.

Then sit back and watch the cash roll in.

eBay - where the excitement rises as the bids start coming.

So the great pre-Christmas clearout has begun. I've listed a couple of items already and although one didn't sell first time round, eBay automatically relisted it so I didn't have to do anything at all.

So if anyone wants a nice, furry coat ... know where I am
